Yeah it's coarsely ground durum wheat, with particles mostly between 0.25 and 0.75 mm in diameter. The same milling grade is called grits if made from maize, and farina if made from barley or wheat other than 100% durum.
Semolina is the primary ingredient in all pasta and in couscous, and is also popular as a porridge. Semolina porridge has come to be known in the United States by the trade name ''Cream of Wheat''. Semolina pudding is prepared much in the same way as semolina porridge, but is heavily sweetened and served chilled. In India it is called as Sooji also and in southern part of India it is called as Rava. Space. The new frontier of vast exploration of the stars and of the unknown.

from the message board "My Immortal"
Mmm Mmm Lembas! The Recipe: 3 eggs 1 cup honey (preferably wild honey) 1 tablespoon grated orange peel or three kumquats or one large finger of a hand of Buddha. 2 teaspoons orange flower water (optional) 3 oz blanched almonds 1/4 cup melted butter 2-1/4 cups semolina flour 1/2 teaspoon salt Place eggs, honey, orange peel or other fruit, orange flower water, and almonds in blender. Blend on high for 3 minutes. Add 1 cup of the flour. Blend for 1 minute. Scrape into a bowl and add remaining flour and salt. Whisk or stir until well blended. Bake lembas on a pizzelle or krumkake iron 15 seconds each or until lightly brown. You may substitute a waffle iron but add a teaspoon of baking powder. The texture will not be quite accurate in a waffle iron. What Tolkien says about Lembas -They contain honey -they are light-colored on the inside and light brown crust -they are thin and regular-shaped. This implies they were made on some kind of griddle iron. The closest modern equivalent is a Krumkake iron. A pizzelle iron may also be used. Some other things we can guess: They contain the fruit and maybe the flower-water of the Mallorn tree. In this recipe oranges were used, although kumquats or a hand of Buddha fruit might be better. They probably had some kind of finely ground light-colored nut in them. Almods were used in this case. They contained some kind of nourishing flour. Semolina flour was chosen, which is a more primitive flour, and also more nourishing. Galadriel probably used some kind of grinder to refine the ingredients, but a blender may be substituted. Hey, Gala.
To all members of this board and of the Space Exploration board: I had hoped that everyone would have received this info via email, but I have doubts that y'all did so I am having to post it here. The Space Explorations board has moved and is just waiting for members to join (not to mention the skins to be added. ;-j). Anyway, the easiest way for me to tell you how to get there is through the Space Explorations website (which I'm still working on) and that web address is www.spaceexplorations.org/ When you get there just click on forums (you'll also see old forums, just ignore that) and that'll take you to the forum page. Once you get there choose register to register for your account (in case you didn't know what register was for. ;-j). Right now, your only option for board style is subsilver, but I'm working on getting other styles added. Basically, once those are added, you can choose whichever style you like. In other words, Gala might have the Star Trek like style while I might have the subsilver style. Hope that helps some. Once you've regiestered, be sure to read the rules and regulations as this is very important. I think that about covers it. If any of you have questions, you know where to find me. Oh, one more thing, I've noticed this on another site of mine, if you don't have a webpage or any kind of instant messenger account, don't put anything there. I think the ones who have done that on The American Wars board (which can be found by going to www.theamericanwars.org and clicking on message board), are probably not worth having around the board anyway. Guess what I just printed out (although I'm guessing I've done this before)?
None other than the recipe for Lembas Bread. Have you tried it yet?

Hey, how is everyone? This is really the first I've been posting on the Yuku boards. I've been avoiding it. Nice to see that at least a couple of people are still around once in a while. TXK - sorry I haven't kept in touch in a while. Lots of stuff going on in my crazy life, as usual. Did you get my Christmas card I sent? I need to get an email out to all of the girls SOON! Have you heard from Deb or Camille lately? I don't seem to have a current email for Deb / Beaching. I tried writing her some time ago, but never got any response. On the topic of Lembas - Some friends and I actually made it for our annual Lord of the Rings movie day last year. It was quite good. But then, we did doctor it up with a few extra ingredients so.... hehe All I can say is... HONEY! LoTS of honey! Mmmm.... Lembas goes good with freeh strawberry or peach or apple preserves as well. Hmm... this talk of food is making me hungry. Think I'll go raid the fridge. I doubt I'll find any lembas around the house, though. hehe Take care all. It's nice hanging out again. -Diane/Galadriel

Spock, I'm just getting back to these boards so I have no avatar up yet (that might be the reason for an 'x').
Gala, Camille and i email back and forth occasionally (now that she finally has changed my email address, it'll probably be a bit more often). She and I are also friends on facebook. As to Deb, I don't think I've heard from her in awhile either. I think she and Cam still keep in touch, but don't quote me on that. ;-j Now as to the Lembas bread, it may be awhile before I can get around to trying some of that out. Glad to hear it was good, though. ;-j Actually, I'm not much bigger than a Hobbit, but I'm not sure I'd eat quite as much. Was it true that one small bite is enough to fill a grown man? Then again, you're not a grown man, but a grown woman so you wouldn't know. ;-j (you remember the lines regarding the Witch King of...oh, what's his name),

I have a Galadriel pic as my avatar, but it's probably so old that it's not showing. I'll have to drop by the Bashers' board and see if Cy is around and see if she still has that pic. It was a nice one. I really need to get an email out to the group soon and catch up with everyone. I actually have a snail mail address somewhere for Deb. I'll have to find it and send her a card and see how she's doing. The email I have for her is an old one and I don't think it's correct any longer. .I feel bad that I haven't written Camille in a while. Life gets so busy, you know? I've recently been connecting with a lot of old friends... online and off. I've been too distracted for far too long. I've found quite a few people on Facebook and on some old boards that have remained intact and moved over to these Yuku boards. I've been having a lot of fun reconnecting. Mmmm.... lembas is sounding good right now. I'm getting hungry as I haven't had lunch yet today. Think I'll go do that right now. We're having the Relay For Life today in our town. It's right down the street at the football stadium. Think I'll run back down and get a snack at one of the booths and maybe take a few more laps around the track in remembrance of lost friends and family. Take care. Have a great weekend! -G..
